One product variant of ornamental glass is channel-shaped glass with a U-profile Profilit, Linit or Reglit, which is manufactured in a machine rolling process with and without wire mesh insert in the longitudinal direction. Channel-shaped Profilit, Linit or Reglit glass is produced either with relief structure 504 or without pattern. Depending on the pattern, the channel-shaped Profilit, Linit or Reglit glass is more or less transparent but it is always fully translucent in the same way as ornamental glass itself. And thanks to the structural stability of the channel-shaped Profilit, Linit or Reglit glass (U shape), they are suitable for glazing large building areas. Installation of the channel-shaped Profilit, Linit or Reglit glass may be as single-shell or double shell.
With the help of different designs in terms of width and surface texture, light incidence, light scattering, solar control and thermal insulation can be achieved. Depending on structural requirements, channel-shaped Profilit, Linit or Reglit glass to heights of up to 7m is quite possible.
With the special profiles, such as 22/60/7, 25/60/7 or 30/60/7 without wire inserts, even shock resistance to ball impact can be achieved.
Alternative colours for the channel-shaped Profilit, Linit or Reglit glass are amethyst (violet) or azure blue (bluish variants). Heat-strengthened channel-shaped Profilit, Linit or Reglit glass with or without heat-soak test offers particular safety properties. It is also suitable for horizontal installation. The strengthened channel-shaped Profilit, Linit or Reglit glass is also available with coloured enamelling.
